Key Benefits of uPVC Sash Windows
Variety of openings – With modern uPVC sliding sash windows, both opening sashes not only slide up or down, but also (if maximum ventilation is required) can tilt inwards to allow air to flood into the home. This tilt feature also allows the glass to be cleaned from the inside of the property.
No draughts or condensation – We have dedicated a significant amount of time and money into developing a range of energy efficient products. Energy-efficient glazing reduces condensation build-up on the inside of the windows.

Sash windows FAQs
How do uPVC sash windows work? The ‘sash’ in a sash window is a sliding element in the frame that allows the window to slide open or closed, either up or down.
Can sash windows be double glazed? Yes! You can get double glazed sash windows. We also have various glazing options available.
How do you open uPVC sash windows? First, unlock the window by turning the catch. Next, slide the bottom window up by using the lift hooks. We also have options where you can slide the top window up and down as well as the bottom, and further options where the sash window can also tilt inwards to allow a heavy airflow in and indoor cleaning.
How do you clean uPVC sash windows? Tilt the sashes inwards in order to clean the exterior glass with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.
How do sash windows stay open? In old sash windows from the Victorian period, a system of weights and cords meant the moveable sash would be connected to a weight that kept it in place. Nowadays, we use more sophisticated, but still simple, springs and turning rods for ease of maintenance.
