Composite Doors
Eliments composite doors can offer you the best of both worlds - stunning good looks combined with features to ensure that your home is protected against rain, wind and snow.
Firstly, the strength of a composite door means no warping, twisting and splitting, so your door will stay wind and weatherproof throughout its long life. And because all our doors come fitted with triple weather seals, you need never worry about cold draughts.
Britain is renowned for its rainy climate and therefore all our composite doors feature rain deflectors, to keep out the very worst of the British weather.
Timber doors may crack, split or warp and of course need regular painting to keep them looking presentable, whilst PVC-U doors offer great longevity, but can sometimes look angular and bland. A composite door combines all the aesthetic benefits of painted or varnished timber with the low maintenance and long life expectancy of modern materials. To keep your composite door looking as good as new, the only maintenance required is an occasional wipe over with a soft cloth and some soapy water - it's as easy as that.
Plus, the top surface of our composite door is made from a tough material called GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymer). GRP is through-coloured, so in the unlikely event that your door should get scratched, the same colour will show through, meaning that time consuming touch-ups are also a thing of the past.
VEKA composite doors from Eliments undergo a range of stringent, independent tests to prove their technical and thermal performance, for your total peace of mind.
All our composite doors are approved by Secured by Design - the official UK Police initiative supporting the principles of 'designing out crime'. It focuses on crime prevention at the design, layout and construction stages of homes, and promotes the use of security standards for a wide range of applications and products. Secured by Design has identified a range of test standards that indicate products which are more likely to resist common forms of attack, and therefore give better protection.
VEKA composite doors are also compliant with PAS23 / 24 - these are independent test which demonstrate the performance and enhanced security of doors.
Not only this, but during the design and development process our composite doors undergo tough weather tests - to ensure that they can withstand the very worst of the British weather.
So with a Eliments composite door, you can rest assured that your new front door has been subjected to, and passed, a range of security and weather tests.
Every style of VEKA composite door also complies with the very latest Building Regulations. These were announced in October 2010, and state that all doors must have a minimum U Value of 1.8. A U Value is a measure of the heat loss through a material and the lower the number, the better that material performs. Every VEKA Composite door performs better than the minimum standard set out in the Regulations - all styles achieve a U Value of 1.6 or less, with some styles boasting an impressive U Value of just 1.0.
